Terms of Subscription

Effective September 26, 2026. These terms apply to all Varenigo subscription plans and one-time purchases.

1. The service

Varenigo delivers handmade frozen Ukrainian dumplings on a subscription basis. Billing runs in 28-day periods, and every billing period contains exactly two deliveries, two weeks apart. Delivery frequency is not user-selectable at launch.

You do not need an account to order. When you order without signing in, a Varenigo account is created for the email address you check out with once your payment goes through, and we email you a link to set a password for it. That account is where you see your upcoming deliveries and manage your order.

2. Subscription tiers and minimum order

Three tiers are offered, defined by packs per delivery: Starter (3 packs), Classic (6 packs), and Family (10 packs). A billing period holds two deliveries, so a period buys twice that: 6, 12, or 20 packs. The minimum order is one full tier per delivery; partial orders are not available. To change tier or billing term, email hello@varenigo.com; the change takes effect at the start of your next billing period.

3. Choosing your flavors

You compose both of your deliveries when you subscribe. A billing period pays for two boxes, and you fill each one separately: the first however you like, and the second from whatever the period has left. Across the two, half your packs are vareniky and half are pelmeni; a single box is free to be all of one kind.

Your account page lists both of the deliveries coming up and what is in each, so you can always see what is on its way. Changing a box after you have subscribed is not something you can do there yet: email hello@varenigo.com before its picks close and we will sort it out. Picks close 7 days before a delivery, which is when the kitchen starts making it.

Picks close 7 days before a delivery. Seven days is the notice the kitchen needs to buy ingredients, fold, and pack, and once a box has closed we cannot change what is in it. Picking is optional and we do not send a reminder email: a box you have not composed is packed from the automatic split described above, so a delivery is never missed and never arrives short.

4. Billing and renewal

You are charged when you subscribe. Because the kitchen needs 7 days of notice, that first charge genuinely covers your first two boxes, so there is no free trial and nothing is prorated.

After that, subscriptions renew automatically every 28 days until you cancel. Twenty-eight days is exactly two delivery gaps, which is what keeps every billing period at two deliveries and never a third. It also means 13 charges a year rather than 12, and it means your billing date is not a fixed day of the month: it moves about two days earlier each month. Someone billed on Wednesday 7 October is billed again on 4 November, then 2 December, then 30 December. That is the cycle working correctly, not a mistake.

Each renewal is charged 10 days before the first of the two deliveries it pays for, never on the delivery day itself. Those 10 days are the kitchen's 7 days of lead plus 3 days to retry a card that fails, so a payment problem is resolved before food is made. A Zone 1 example: billed Wednesday 7 October, boxes on Saturday 17 October and Saturday 31 October, billed again on Wednesday 4 November.

Your first delivery is the first run that is at least 7 days away, so depending on when you sign up you wait between 7 and 20 days for it, about 13 or 14 days on average. The gap between your signup charge and your first renewal is set so that the renewal lands 10 days before your third box. From that renewal onward the cycle is a steady 28 days.

The 6-month and 12-month plans are prepaid and are counted in the same 28-day periods: the 6-month plan is 6 periods, which is 24 weeks, and the 12-month plan is 13 periods, which is 52 weeks. The full term is charged in a single payment at the discounted rate when you subscribe, and the plan renews with a new prepaid term at the end of the current one unless you cancel before the renewal date.

If a payment fails, we retry the card over the days that follow, which is what the 3-day gap before the kitchen commits your run is for. If it is still unpaid after that, we may hold your deliveries until the balance clears. You can update your card at any time from your account page.

Every charge also includes the delivery fee for your zone (see Section 8), charged once per billing period and covering both deliveries in that period; on a prepaid plan the delivery fee for the full term is prepaid together with the plan. The total you will be charged, including any tax that applies, is shown at checkout before you pay.

5. Price changes

We may change prices with at least 30 days' written notice. A price change never applies mid-term: prepaid 6-month and 12-month plans keep their prepaid rate until the term ends. If you do not accept a new price, you may cancel before it takes effect.

6. Pausing and skipping deliveries

Deliveries cannot be paused or skipped from your account at launch. A billing period is a fixed 28 days holding two deliveries, and both are made and paid for together, so there is no partial period to skip. If a delivery will not work for you, email hello@varenigo.com before its picks close and we will do what we can. If you want to stop altogether, you can cancel at any time (see Section 7) and you still receive every delivery you have already paid for.

7. Cancellation

You can cancel at any time from your account, in as few steps as it took to subscribe. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period you are in: you still receive both of the deliveries that period paid for, and no further charge is made. On a prepaid 6-month or 12-month plan, cancellation stops the renewal, your deliveries continue to the end of the prepaid term, and the term itself is not partially refunded. In both cases you receive everything already paid for, and we confirm the cancellation by email.

8. Delivery area and delivery terms

We deliver within our Indiana service area, verified by ZIP code and organized into four delivery zones. Each zone has its own delivery fee and its own delivery day within the two-week cycle: Zone 1, Columbus (Columbus city, 0 to 8 miles), $4.99, Saturdays in week 1 of the cycle; Zone 2, Edinburgh Belt (Edinburgh, Hope, and Flat Rock, 8 to 25 miles), $7.99, Sundays in week 1; Zone 3, North Indiana (Greenwood, Indianapolis, and Carmel, up to 60 miles north), $12.99, Saturdays in week 2; and Zone 4, South Indiana (Bedford and Bloomington, up to 60 miles south), $12.99, Sundays in week 2.

The fee is charged once per 28-day billing period and covers both deliveries in that period. Your zone and fee are determined by your delivery ZIP and shown before you pay.

Keep your delivery address current in your account; you can change it there yourself as long as the new address is in the same zone. A move into a different zone changes your fee and your delivery day, so email hello@varenigo.com and we will handle it; the new fee applies from your next billing period. To change the phone number on your subscription, email us as well.

Boxes are delivered frozen in insulated packaging and may be left at your door; they stay food-safe for the window stated on the box. If a delivery fails because of an incorrect address or an inaccessible location, we will contact you to reschedule, and a redelivery fee may apply.

9. Refunds and quality issues

Because our dumplings are perishable, delivered orders cannot be returned. If a delivery arrives damaged, thawed, incomplete, or otherwise not right, tell us within 48 hours at hello@varenigo.com with a photo and we will replace the affected packs or credit your account, at your choice.

10. Food safety and allergens

Our dumplings are made in a kitchen that handles wheat, eggs, and dairy, and individual flavors contain meat. Full ingredient and allergen information is listed on each pack and on the flavor selection page. Keep dumplings frozen until cooking and follow the cooking instructions on the pack.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If a change materially affects your subscription, we will notify you by email at least 30 days before it takes effect. Continuing your subscription after that date means you accept the updated terms.

12. Contact and governing law

Questions about your subscription: hello@varenigo.com. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana.
